How individuals can make a data deletion request
A clear request helps an organization identify the data and applicable rights.
Identify the correct recipient
Use the organization’s official privacy contact or rights request process. Avoid sending passwords or identity documents in the first message.
Describe the relevant data
Mention the account or transaction sufficiently to find the records and identify the remedy sought.
Understand exceptions
Erasure is not unconditional. Records may need to be retained for legal obligations, disputes or other lawful reasons.
Keep a private timeline
Save a copy of your request and the reply in your own secure storage. For GDPR requests, the general response period is one month, subject to legal details and extensions.
Try the relevant free tool, then verify any output against actual website behavior and local requirements.
